At Hadleigh High School, we are committed to ensuring that every student is supported to achieve their full potential. The choices students make for Key Stage 4 are an important part of their education and can help shape their future opportunities in further education, training and employment.
We offer a broad range of subjects and qualifications in Years 10 and 11, allowing students to develop their interests, build on their strengths and follow a pathway that is appropriate for their aspirations. The Key Stage 4 CurriculumAll students follow a core curriculum throughout Years 10 and 11, which includes:
Alongside these core subjects, students choose from a range of additional courses as part of the options process. Our offer includes both GCSE and vocational qualifications, providing different pathways to suit students with a range of interests, strengths and future plans. The aim is to provide every student with a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum while ensuring that their programme of study is appropriate for their individual needs and future aspirations. Making the Right ChoicesChoosing subjects for Key Stage 4 is an important decision, and we encourage students to think carefully about their choices. Students should consider:
Students should choose subjects because they are right for them, rather than simply following their friends or choosing a subject because they think it will be easier. To facilitate the 'options process', the following event has also been scheduled:

Supporting Students Through the Options Process
We recognise that choosing Key Stage 4 subjects can feel daunting, so students and their parents/carers will be supported throughout the process. Information and guidance will be provided to help students understand the courses available and make informed decisions about their future.
Students will have opportunities to discuss their choices with teachers and other members of staff, and parents/carers are encouraged to talk through the options with their child.
Our aim is to ensure that every student follows a Key Stage 4 programme that enables them to make strong progress, achieve meaningful qualifications and prepare successfully for their next steps.
Please see the Key Stage 4 Options Booklet below for detailed information about the courses available and the options process.
