Academy Committee
Hadleigh High School acquired academy status on the 1st July 2011. For us, the freedom to personalise the curriculum around students to keep them engaged with learning was crucial. Schools that do well can get overlooked in funding discussions. Academy status allows us to take the decisions about how we use our funding to support learners. We work closely with a wide range of schools to develop further learning opportunities for our students and also attend Local Authority training and events. The principles of governance are the same in Academies as in maintained schools but the Academy Committee has greater autonomy.
