Business studies introduces students to the world of commerce and trade. We look at how businesses start and grow, how they adapt to survive and how they work to ensure that they stay relevant and successful in an ever changing market.
Business studies suits anyone interested in how the world of private businesses operates. You will develop a thorough working knowledge of how entrepreneurs bring their ideas to the market, develop evaluation skills and learn the value of market flexibility and research.
This course is assessed by two external exam papers taken in the summer of Year 11.
Paper 1: Investigating small business (50%) - 1 hour 45 minutes Paper 2: Building a business (50%) - 1 hour 45 minutes
