Keeping Children Safe During School Closures
At Hadleigh High School, the safety and wellbeing of our students remains our priority at all times, including during the holidays. If you have a safeguarding concern about a child during the Christmas holidays please follow the instructions below:
If a child is at immediate risk of harm:
- Call 999 or go to your nearest Accident + Emergency department.
If you are worried about a child’s welfare: Contact Suffolk Children and Young People
- Social Care (Customer First): Phone: 0808 800 4005 (Mon-Thurs: 8am-5pm. Fri: 8am-4pm)

For urgent mental health support:
- Call 111, for the NHS Crisis Support Line
- select the mental health option (24/7 helpline for anyone of any age.)
If life-threatening medical help is needed call 999.

Self-harm in children and young people - information and advice for parents and carers
I think my child is self-harming, what should I do?
- Self-harm is ‘not attention seeking’ so don't ignore it.
- Make an appointment at your GP surgery for advice and support.
- Contact the Emotional Wellbeing Hub to refer them to CAMHS for East and West Suffolk
- Young people can get online counselling support from Kooth - a free and friendly online emotional wellbeing service and counselling website for 11-25 year olds.
